PENASCO ROBES
This bold, geometric design is patterned after the rich textile traditions of Mexican weavers. In the early 1600s Spanish colonists brought traditional two-shuttle looms with them up the Camino Real from Mexico. They also brought with them Churro sheep which became the foundation for a thriving weaving tradition in the settlements along the Rio Grande.
